Geelong West helps All Saints' celebrate 150th Anniversary

On the 3rd of March 2013, the Geelong West Brass Band kicked off the start of the brass band year, and entertained just over 100 people at the All Saints' Anglican Parish of Newtown/Geelong West. The concert was to promote the Parish's celebrations for their 150th Anniversary.

The band played a variety of hymn tunes, contest marches, and featured many of the bands soloists. In particular, the band featured it's youngest member Holly Steele (14) on Bb cornet with the solo Emerald Skies. This was a particularly memorable performance for the Steele family, as Grandad David was playing in the band, and Dad Jeff Steele (MD) conducting the band.

The concert was well received by all who attended, and all members of the band thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon. A huge thanks to the members of the Parish (Peter Danaher and John Nelson) for helping making the day possible. A big thanks also to our very own Deb Stallard for being MC for the day.

Check out the videos section of the website, for a few of the pieces that were performed on the day.
